About the Game

About the game

The Wicked Days is a top-down shooter with rogue-like elements. You are one of the “participants'' in a secret government project. The subject immersed in the simulation must get out of the town at the time of a zombie apocalypse, which is one of the ways to activate the alien gene sleeping in it. But in the process it turns out that you are not such a simple participant and the project is not at all governmental ...

Planned features of the full game

  • Aim when you shoot
    Aimed shooting has impact:
    the head - get critical damage;
    the legs - slow down the enemy;
    the hands - neutralize the enemy
  • Vehicles
    Find, repair and drive cars of various kinds.

  • Buildings with loot
    Most buildings in the game are not just for the sake of a beautiful facade. They can be entered and loot can be collected inside.
  • Playable characters
    Find and complete quests to expand your collection of playable characters. Including references to TV shows and action movies of the 90s.
  • Useful consumables
    Use first-aid kits, gobble up different pills, guzzle alcohol - use whatever you find to survive and succeed in the world of madness

  • Hearing and Noise
    Each character has its own hearing score and the amount of noise he emits. With the help of hearing, you can determine the direction of the enemy, its quantity and even quality. Without making any noise, you can try to avoid unnecessary battles and save ammunition.
  • Leveling
    Improve your character with found drugs or items that are added to the status. For example the epinephrine found will allow you to run faster for a while, and if you own a medical dropper this will prolong the effect.

  • Checkpoints
    Phone booths or just payphones on poles are scattered around the map. They ring when a player walks by for the first time. When the player approaches the payphone, all world progress is saved. After the death of the player, progress rolls back to the last checkpoint. In hardcore mode, the phones will serve to save and close the game.
  • Safehouses
    Inside the safehouse, the player will be able to find some useful loot and will have the ability to teleport between such houses. There will be a jacuzzi with a duck as a teleport point. Also, inside such houses after their activation, there can be no zombies or other enemies.

Longread Lore

It is the nineties

In the beginning of the Vietnam War, Marvin Todds' squad was assigned a special mission to escort a civilian to the alleged UFO crash site. The civilian being a government bioengineer by the name Emmerich von Monsardo.

But as soon as they arrived at the destination, a bright sphere of expanding light blinded everyone.

When Marvin regained his consciousness, the squad, along with the civilian, was on their way to the base. No one could remember what happened at the facility. The incident was quickly hushed up, the civilian was moved to the farthest corner of the bureau. And the special department continued to do its dirty work in the war.

However, after the light sphere incident, Marvin and the others became more than just an elite military squad. Each of the squad members discovered a supernatural ability - strength, speed or endurance would reach a new level. Sometimes they could jump over rivers, run faster than cars and break down trees with their bare hands…

30 years later

Retired Colonel Marvin Todds, spent his quiet evenings in the backyard of his cozy house, sitting in an armchair, chaotically switching TV channels. The growing feeling that something was wrong had not left him for the last few years. Deciding to think about it more, he went to shoot bottles.

Marvin had hardly put the pistol in the holster, when he heard the rumble of a falling plane diving straight towards him on his site.
"What the hell is going on here ?!" - the old man had just the time to say, as right in front of him out of nowhere materialised the first monster. The same kind of monster from trashy films that helped Marvin to drown out flashbacks before bedtime.

Only this time it was not a dream - this was the world of The Wicked Days...
